Nan Cao (曹楠) is the vice dean of Tongji College of Design and Innovation (Tongji D&I) and a professor at Tongji School of Software Engineering. He is the founding director of AI & Data design program and intelligent big data visualization lab at Tongji University. Before joining Tongji, Nan Cao was a research staff member at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in USA. He received the PhD degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research interests are AI + (data visualization, visual analytics, information design, visual communication design, and human-computer interaction). He has published over 100 research papers in these fields.
